Our thanks to Jacob who wrote this poem which may offer comfort to some of
you:
The Lady of the Darkness
I watch you with my eagle eyes then
For I know of your pain and trouble
Body covered in clothes head to foot, as if a trend
There is not many around that look your double
Why this plague, why does my body suffer
Those that crave the sun I carve the shadow
Sun creams and clothes are my buffer
People stare and wonder, and what reason so
God if only I could shout out and let them know
But I must take from the sun what I can
And in turn ignore the stares of man
Because the light I absorb more than anything
Is the light we all have and that is my spring
Without this inner light from within
I tell you now, my body would be in a coffin
It gives me strength to see and be
The Lady of Darkness as you walk by me
